Hello again everyone. As you know September 11th was not that long ago. On that day we were reminded all over the media of the brutal attacks on our country. The question that is always raised when we see these videos played on facebook or youtube is how far is to far? What I mean by this is what should and shouldn't be shown out of respect for the people that were lost? I am going to post a link of one of the video's I watched on facebook with a friend. Warning. What you see is graphic to a degree but is this going to far? I thought it might have been a little bit to far no matter what the intention was. Think about this video from the perspective of someone who knew that one of his or her family members jumped. Can you imagine how traumatizing that would be? It would be pretty awful to have to witness the death of a loved one in such a brutal way. If it were me it would be something that was constantly playing in my mind over and over again as it is. To have it played over and over again in the news and on the Internet would be offensive and disrespectful. If you are reading this and you have posted a video like that I'm not going to ask you to delete it. What I do want to know is the reason behind posting it in the first place. I am taking a class called Media and Society and one of the things we talked about was media literacy. As a media student I want to know the "why behind the why" as my Professor would say. Your feedback would be much appreciated because this is my first blog ever. So finally, here's the clip.

This blog represents the knowledge I hope to gain from learning about media and society. I want it to reflect an intellectual approach to these subjects while also learning how to use technology like blogging to keep myself and others updated on the things I find of interest in the world today.

Hello Everybody!
This is my first blog and I'm very excited to share it with all of you. The goal of my blog is not just an assignment based thing, but rather a real curiosity of how other people get information to each other besides your typical e-mail, social networking and telephone uses. I am studying media communications so I must quench this thirst for media based knowledge and hopefully with your kind feedback I will accomplish this goal with great success!
Until Next time
